As Christians, we know we are in a war, and we know it’s with the powers of darkness. But where did these powers of darkness come from? Why is there a talking snake in God’s good world? Is God really that good if He created these powers of darkness? And why did God kill so many people in the Old Testament, even children? When you look around the world and see evil manifesting, does it feel like God sits there in silence? We are going to be answering these questions and more in Seed Wars.
We will start by discussing the character of Yahweh, why humanity is a big deal, the origin of the powers of darkness, and what they really are. The Bible will be our primary text for this class along with first temple literature, archaeological findings, and a few anthropological studies.
The goals for this class are to identify consistent themes throughout the Old Testament, to demystify the unseen world, and to give you a solid foundation in your identity as a victorious human. Most importantly, the goal is for you to have a greater understanding of the power of the cross and what Jesus accomplished for Creation.
